Our Journey to a million views

It’s been 408 hrs since we launched the Zimplats, Friends with Albinism campaign. And in those 408 hrs, 240,000 Zimbabweans and counting have watched the awareness video online. Targeted Above the line (ATL – Radio, TV, Print, Outdoor etc) has also supported the campaign ensuring that every Zimbabwean is moved by the message.

Today, millions of Zimbabweans have been exposed to “Beyond this Skin” message and over 240,000 people online are stronger because they gave up 60 seconds of their time to not only watch but be educated on the plight of our friends with albinism. The goal is not to stop, but to spread the message as far and wide. We need your help to do that.

Our friends with albinism face many challenges by being stereotyped and prejudiced as a result of misconceptions on albinism. The journey to this campaign has been an eye-opener for us as Agency, and we remain convicted to push this message through to the widest audience possible.

When we set out to carve an audience for this campaign, we forecasted the traffic to expect however the results we have seen in the last 17 days, have exceeded what we expected. The insight we draw from this is the fact that today’s audience resonates with a genuine emotional message. And the power of digital media catapulted the campaign not only from Muzarabani right up to Khalanyoni but all the corners of the world.

The message has also caught the attention of news outlets in many countries including the US and our Agency-partners in the USA – McCann New York. Check out what they had to say here. This simply goes to reiterate that a message of the heart cuts across borders, and it is this message of empowering our friends with albinism that we hold dear to our hearts.
